cannot open PSE2

In the past, PSE2 automatically updated itself as necessary, then opened the application. This time it will not complete the update (at least not within 10 minutes). I’ve tried several times.

I can provide the specific info on the screen if this is helpful.

Any suggestions to get past this? PSE2, eMac, OSX, DSL.
