PS-CS is apparently not fully compatible with the jpeg format from newer (at least) Canon digicams.

Please note, this has nothing to do with CameraRaw and it’s recent patch. This is regarding JPEGs straight from the camera, unaltered.

PS-CS, both in FileInfo and FileBrowser, totally misses the following data from JPEGs directly out of a Canon Pro1:

ISO
Contrast
Saturation
Sharpness
Flash Bias

These are pretty important, especially ISO. There’s no way at all, that I can find, to determine the ISO speed of a Canon Pro1 JPEG using PS-CS. PS-CS has no such problems with Minolta digicams. Also, PM-View and ACDSee have no trouble picking up the info from the Canon files.

Adobe might want to say this is Canon’s fault for using some bizarre EXIF structure, but since Canon obviously will not be patching the hardware, for obvious reasons, Adobe will you please kindly patch Photoshop?

Thanks….
