RAW images processed to 16 bit tiff files with CANON file viewer utility

When processing raw images to 16 bit tiff files shot on the canon 10d with the canon file viewer utility, the images appear about two stops underexposed when opened in photoshop 7.0.1. The exposures are correct in the camera, and look fine in the canon utility window. Levels corrections help, but shouldn’t there be a way to avoid this????

Have you tried it with Adobe Camera RAW?

Also, check your color preferences in Photoshop – it sounds like you’re using a colorspace VERY different from what the Canon software is using.
