I had an EOS Digital Rebel which was drowned (long story) and I could upload my RAW files and adjust them in CS without any problem. I uninstalled the Canon Digital Rebel because it was irrepairable and got a 10 D to replace it. I installed the software because I run WIN 2K pro. Now I cannot open a RAW file into Photoshop CS. The files aren’t corrupted because I can use the Canon utilities to see them and alter them, but I wanted CS because I would be able to manage the RAW files right there. Is there a known problem? I tried the new RAW filter from Adobe and that made the problem worse. The Canon drivers are the latest ones and I have the latest firmware. Please if you have any idea of what has happened, email me. I don’t want to use another format. I want to upload RAW for the ability to have all the data associated the image.
I have a custom dual P3 with a gig of RAM and had no problems before adding my new camera. I can still open the RAW digital Rebel files without any difficulty.
I will try to reach Canon as well. What a nightmare, first a fall into a swamp drowned the Rebel…NOW this!
