photoshop cs2 crashes at launch

downloaded a trial version of photoshop from the adobe website, and installed it and everything, but when i try to open it, it gets so far, then freezes, and i have to shut it down.

This is how far it gets before it crashes:

at which point, if i click or attempt to do anything on it, it does this: < http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r19/princess-sarah88/phot oshopgrrr.jpg>

I’ve tried uninstalling the whole photoshop preoduct and redownloading it from the website again, and reinstalling it all but the exact same thing happened.

Ive looked through the other forums and searched for this problem but cant seem to find anything thats helping me with this problem.

I’m really not good with the technical stuff, but im using windows xp. Does anyone know why it is doing this and how i can fix it please… in as simple language as possible please!? thanks

Do you have an older Pentium 4 with HyperThreading?
Probably 3.0 Ghz?

Try turning off the Hyperthreading in the BIOS.
