I am a novice to digital photography and PSE2. My brother-in-law gave me his Christmas pictures on a CD. Can they be imported directly into PSE? If they can be, what is the procedure? Thanks.

Martha,
You (and your computer’s RAM) might be overwhelmed if you open all the pictures directly into PE2. If you are talking about 5-10 pix, that would be OK.

What I do is first create a new folder (e.g. Xmaspix) in my C: drive (using Windows Explorer) and then while still in Explorer, I find the CD disc, and open it. I then select all the picture files and move them to the Xmaspix folder.

Then, I look at them by double-clicking on the first one. This opens the built in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. You can then scroll through them all. As you do ,you can write down the file names of those pictures you might want to edit and print via PE2.

Hope this helps,

John
