Hello.
Me again. Well, I thought I had fixed my FileBrowser issues but no go there. I am going to post this same topic in the Windows Forums as it is not happening to both. Here is the problem and the solution I have found although I should not have to do the fix every single time like I am doing now.
Say I have 30 images. I open them and do BnW conversions (BnW is just an example…it is the easiest to see for obvious reasons) on 5-10 of them. I export my cache (this step is done on a Mac). Now I walk over to the other computer and open the Browser on a PC. Alas, the images I converted to BnW are in color. Purging the cache on this computer results in no updating. All the images still appear in color. Open it on another Mac system (not the original one) and the same thing…my BnWs are all showing up as color in the Browser. If I open the files on any of the computers, I see BnW. It may not seem like much of a problem but when my editors are going through and checking the browser to see what images to work on (different editors working on different photo-session types), it causes issues because now they have to open each image to find out which are for the BnW session.
Here is the fix I am finding…I go to the image server and delete any and all Adobe Browser related files (3 of them) and delete the Browser cache on the local systems, voila…I have the browser cache looking exactly the way it should. I’m not sure what is causing this but it’s an annoyance. Has anyone else had this problem??? If none of the users are experiencing this then (Adobe if you are listening) what can I do about this???
