I understand you wanting to make substanial, visceral contact with the people whose work you revere.
Some folks enjoy it, and are happy to correspond, and some enjoy it most when the contact gets funneled through their management agencies.
Then there are those if us who are cantankerous and agoraphobic.
We can be quite friendly when we have our agoraphobia, addictions, depressions, allergies, and our various, multitudinous, subtle lame-ass neuroses wrangled under some sort of temporary control.

We keeeeed. I keeeed you. They keeeeed you. Really. We’re only dangerous,scary, unsociable and fully unapproachable when we fear our own reactions to a harsh exposure that we feel we don’t have full control of.
