Is there any way to place a clipping path on TIFF artwork in Photoshop that will still clip when "placed" in Illustrator? (I use PS 7 and AI 10).

Placing anything other than TIFF files into my AI documents makes for much longer print times, but to place a clipped picture I seem to have no other choice than to use EPS, PSD, etc.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Link EPS in Illustrator (For Position Only).
Build the layout in InDesign or Quark.

Does that work in 10?

Transparent tifs do not work in Illustrator.

Neither will tifs with clipping paths have their clipping path import with them. Thems the breaks. If you are dead set on using tifs, you will need workarounds.
