When I try to print some files from PS CS, I get the following message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
/…./Photoshop.exe
abnormal program termination

I can print the same files with no problem from PS 7 on the same computer.

The computer is running Windows 2000 SP4. CPU is a P4 3.0. 2GB of RAM. Lots of disk space.

The most recent problem is with a 16-bit TIFF file 6600×4388 pixels. Printing to an Epson Stylus Pro 7600.

The problem is only occasional, and I don’t know what common characteristics might be. But when I hit a problem with a particular file, I always get the error when I try to print it.

If there’s already a thread on this, I’d appreciate a pointer. The forum search doesn’t seem to be working right now.

first thing to try is to update your printer drivers.

No recent updates on the driver front. I have the latest driver and printer firmware already.
