CS3 Photoshop crashing when trying to use type

not sure what it is…but my cs3 photoshop is crashing almost every time i use it. it seems to predominantly happen when i am creating or editing type. i have crash reports and have submitted some, but no resolution – esp since i am not able to decipher what the report is telling me. anyone out there with similar problems?

i’d like to upgrade, but if i am unable to use it – seems silly to spend the $.

Assuming you have installed the dot release for CS3…

Normally, crashing when entering the type tool is a sign of a corrupt font on your system (the type tool tries to read a lot of information about all the fonts).

In addition to corrupt fonts, duplicate activated fonts can cause unexpected system behavior, including crashing or freezing. If you have a good font manager, like Font Agent Pro, you can easily figure out the culprits.
