Generating artwork in photoshop 6 on a pc running windows xp, and saving to tiff files, and sent on a cd to apple mac users. Complaints recieved back are…difficulties in opening the files other than in pictureviewer. And file numbers…other than the first two digits…scrambled, and no longer correct. Is their a compatibility problem, what’s to be done about it?

They need to open the file from within Photoshop, not by double clicking on them at the finder level.

I see the jumbled files names all the time, whether going from Mac to PC, or PC to Mac, regardless of file type.

If they had OSX the file names would not be jumbled. They are not jumbled, but truncated to 8 characters, all caps, followed by a number if needed, then an extension. That is how OS9 will see them.

It’s an ISO9660 thing I think.
