Having a problem with opening mac psd files that have been copied to an XP Win / CPU via network. They have their psd extensions but upon every various method of opening, I only get a "New" file dialog box which happens to have the file name in it… but gives me a NEW and Empty /Blank document. This is happening on the files in several folders containing important client files which I thought I had successfully copied over!

I’ve tried dragging and dropping onto desktop short-cut…I’ve tried opening thru "file open" in photoshop… and ….doubleclicking… All seem to produce only a prompt to open a NEW file with nothing in it.

Any suggestions for this lifer Mac designer who has replaced all with Win XP?

On your Mac, when you save PSD’s, make sure to have Maximize Compatiability in PSD’s checked in the preferences (Edit|Preferences).

That solved the problem for someone else with a similar issue.
