NEF files won’t open with CS2 on Mac OS x v 10.4.11.

Stressed! Have a Nikon D700, started shooting RAW (NEF), loaded them thru nikon view/transfer, saved them in a file on external harddrive. Tried to open them in CS2 but am unable to. I can convert them in nikon transfer, to TIFF, but that takes an age. I could open RAW files previously, but maybe the Mac has updated and gone out of sync with Photoshop. It did this once before, over a year ago, and a friend helped with that problem but neither of us has kept the download details. I have looked on Adobe site but don’t know what I’m looking for. Can anyone assist. There has to be an answer.

See the ACR forum. You have a newer camera that the old version of ACR may not support, or you may need to update ACR>

You need CS3/ACR 4.6, as a minimum, for the D700.
