??? CS won’t open files on my Mac

When I click on a PhotoShop file, PhotoShop CS opens but the file does not. I have use the PS ‘open’ dialog to find and open the file.

Is there a fix? I threw away the PS preferences, but that didn’t help.

I’m running Tiger.
