I’m using Photoshop 6 in windows XP. I used to use 6 in Windows 98 but since I’ve reinstalled in XP I keep getting these disk errors. I’ve asked our system administrator and its not a fault with our server so why is it doing this?
Examples of the errors are:
Could not open "W:\Thomastik\Strings\Superflexible Double Bass.tif" because of a disk error
Could not save as "F:\…|MM300PB side.jpg" because of a disk error
This document maybe damaged (the file may be truncated or incomplete). Continue?
My computer is on a LAN but Photoshop is installed on my computer not on the network. I save alot of my graphics onto the network either the W:\ or F:\ drives and one of the first 2 errors comes up every time but if I cancel it and try again it will work. The 3rd error always comes up when I’m trying to open images that have been downloaded from my digital camera and they are in My Documents so it can’t be a problem with my network. Everything works after I cancel and try again but I’m sure you can appreciate its very frustrating when I have a lot of images to work with. I’ve never had any problems until I got a new computer and started using XP.
Please can some one shed some light?
Thanks.
