Cropping in Photoshop Elements 2.0

I am a new user. I thought I followed the instructions but my photo does not save as the cropped version. I cropped it, looked exactly as I wanted, I did "SAVE AS" a copy. I opened the copy and got the uncropped original. Did I leave out a step ?

Did you also double-click inside the cropped area? You have to do this first, before saving.
