My question is easy; will PS 6.0 run in Tiger 10.4.7 ?

I’m not gonna try installing it if I need to buy the new stuff anyway …

IIRC the earliest version of PS that ran in OSX is 7

Photoshop 6,x will not run natively in Tiger (or any other version of OS X). It will run in Classic emulation running under Tiger.

Running Photoshop 6 in Classic is crappy at best you are limited to allocating 299MB RAM to the app or it won’t work correctly. If the 10.4.7 you are running is on a Mactel the answer is no. The Mactels don’t support Classic.

Suck it up and upgrade.
