CRASHES while updating

I am running Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 on a Mac OS 10.2.8. Starting on January 29th, the program has started crashing while tying to update something. I don’t know what to do about this. To initially start it up I have to turn off my internet connection, so that Elements won’t try to automatically update.

In edit>preferences tell it to NEVER check for updates online. There really aren’t any anyway and you’ll be much happier. If that doesn’t fix the problem, then delete the preferences file manually or with the three finger solution at launch.
