Do you have a scanner?

My scanner software (HP DeskScan II) generates a color target which can be printed, then scanned to calibrate things. Perhaps you already have something similar?

If you are using a CRT, did you calibrate your monitor with the included Adobe Gamma Utility in the Control Panel?
