I have a client who sends me Word documents with embeded graphics. Some I have to use, and most I want to open in PhotoShop.

When I unembed the files from the document in InDesign, the get saved to a file on disk that doesn’t seem to be recognized by PS.

Any work-arounds? Anyone with a similar situation?

Thanks and regards,

Paul

Though MS denies it, images do get mangled up in some sort of Word proprietary format. Even if you extract them from the Word document, they will be irreparably altered, regardless of what anybody tells you.

Workaround: tell your client to cease and desist.
