Only of a sudden my ( Mac OS9.04 platform) adobe photoshop shows a dialogue box "could not initialize photoshop because there is not enough memory (RAM). Yet, I have 384 mb on computer; and 11 GB on hard drive.
The memory of the icon photoshop states that I have a minimum of 45,265KB, and a preferred quantity of 150,000 KB in photoshop memory.

How do I correct this problem so I can get back to opening my adobe photoshop software?? Is there something I do not see or do about the required ram on computer??

Please come to my rescue!

Thank you…. Mary

You most likely need to update your system to 9.1

9.0.4 did not delete temp files.

Mary,

First of all, you shouldn’t be using any flavor of Mac OS 9.0.x. Upgrade to at least 9.1 or, if your machine can handle it, to 9.2.2.

Try assigning Photoshop more RAM (preferred size) for starters.

Hard drive space is not "memory", even though some people refer to it as such.

What regular maintenance and troubleshooting do you do? Trash preferences, rebuild desktop, check the hard drive, check for extension conflicts, etc.
