Why do all JPEG images opened in PSE2 appear significantly brighter than when opened in other programs on the same PC/monitor? I use PSE2 to edit pictures for use in digital photo albums (Diji Album 2.02). I routinely need to use an extra +20 setting on the PSE2 manual brightness control as a compensation to end up with the correct image brightness in other programs. How can I adjust PSE2 to equalize image brightness?

Robert,

If you are running Windows you need to run the monitor calibration program, called Adobe Gamma Calibration Utility found in the Control Panel. PSE is color managed and probably your other programs are not, therefore the mismatch.
