fading adjacent images into each other

photoshop 7 … I need some advice …

think of three or four images that are positioned in a row, side by side, on a dark blue background. they are supposed to look more like one single image, with the borders between them not sharp but rather fading into each other. i just can’t find out how to do this. ideas anyone?
