Is it possible to change opacity on a layer mask by moving the slider up or down? I know that I can paint in with different shades of gray, or blur the mask, etc. But sometimes all I want is to decrease the opacity overall. Any way to do that?

Thanks,
Sarah

Click on the mask, go to Image>Adjustments>Curves and move up the dark end of the curve vertically.

You can use Image>Adjustments>Brightness and Contrast or Curves on a LM. —
