Can Not DRAG an Image

Hello,

I am running Windows XP/Photoshop CS3 and for some reason I can not drag photos around on the screen. This is random as sometimes it works. I have tried everything except reinstalling the software. Which I would rather not do since I have a lot of add-on and plug-in’s.

Here’s what I have tried:
1. Reset PS preferences on the startup
2. I have used all the various Windows Screen modes using Shift-F.
3. Check for updates online.

Any information or insight would be great.

is your mouse set up as left handed, by any chance?

Yes and I am left-handed. It has always worked with both my Wacom tab and my mouse.

try switching it to right handed as a test, i believe there’s a bug accessing windows and palettes in cs3 when using a left handed setup.

also while in left handed mode, try using the other button (your right button is what you use instead of left click on a right handed mouse right?) if so, use the other (left) button.

Hi Dave,

You are a genius!!! I have asked this same question for months to a number of my tech friends and not one of them knew an answer. It appears that the only way it will work consistently is changing my mouse back to a Right-handed one. Do you know if PS has a patch for this bug?

I don’t think so. i THINK it was only introduced in cs3 (at least, i haven’t heard anything of it before cs3)…
