Image resize question

I tried to use the Image > Size feature to resize one of my projects from a 800 X 600 wallpaper to 1024 x 768, but was unable to do so. As you move one variable (changing 800 to 1024) the other variable changes on it’s own (when I change 800 to 1024 600 changes to a setting), dependent upon the change of the first, but it doesn’t automatically turn to the correct setting. The two settings are interlocked. Can this be changed?

Uncheck Constrain Proportions at the bottom of the dialog.
