How do I import images from my camera (Canon EOS Rebel) with PSE running under Mac OS/X 10.2.8? I have tried to do what the PSE user’s guide (p. 41) says, but the camera never shows up in the PSE File|Import menu.
I have installed all the software that came with the camera. I can import images using the software that came with the camera, or the bundled Mac OS/X utilities. I can import with PSE running on Windows XP.
Incidentally, I have also had trouble opening a Kodak CD using PSE on the Mac. The Pictures folder (on the CD) does not show up in PSE’s file browser. I can do it using iPhoto, which is bundled with OS/X. Again, PSE works correctly in Windows XP.
Even though I could just give up and use XP, I would like to make this work with my Mac. Aren’t Macs supposed to be especially good for this sort of thing? Any Mac users out there?
