Preferences automatically resetting

My Preferences are automatically resetting to factory defaults about 2-3 times a month in Photoshop 7.0/XP Pro. How can I prevent this?

This happens to me as well with 6.0 on Win 2000. Sometimes as often as 2-3 times per day, other times it will go for months without happening.

It’s just a goofy program at times.

Good to know it’s not only me.

Win ME/PS6 at work. It Doesn’t happen at home, Win XP/PS7.
