Aloha! How do I use a picture "inside" of text. Help please!

Okay, sorry I am totally confused. I opened a pic … layer one .. I put my name in ..text layer two and I hold alt and click but nothing happens … what is supposed to happen? I’m going nuts here *lol* Sorry.

ALT+click in the Layers palette on the line that is between the two layers. They need to be adjacent.

Make sure the picture is ABOVE the text layer.

Also, you probably need to change the name of ‘layer one’ to something else than Background before you can do this..

The method they’re describing above is known as Grouping layers (in 7 and below) or Clipping Masks (in CS and above).
