having trouble saving files in photoshop CS to a server, it gives me a message saying cannot save because of disk error, but it does save it anyway. Photoshop 7 did not have this problem. Any ideas of what is going on?

Gregory,

Saving over a network (to a server) is a no-no, regardless of your version of Photoshop. Save locally to your hard drive, then copy to the server (don’t do a "Save As"; copy the file by dragging).

Adobe doesn’t support saving over a network because it’s impossible to foresee all the different variables in a given network configuration.

Other factors that will give you problems are the way you name files, folders and drives. Any of the non Unix characters (spaces, any character other than the letters of the English alphabet and numbers) in the path can return an error message.

Most likely it means that the server has problems, or it can’t handle the APIs for dealing with files over 2 Gigabytes (which is still a server problem).
