If I use ctrl-alt-~ to select hilites from composite (or ctrl-click rgb composite in channels) then copy this to new layer; repeat, selecting inverse and copying to new layer. I would have thought when I turn off the ‘background’ layer I would still see everything, but I don’t.
What’s missing?
I get a similar effect using ‘select-color range’ and making a layer each for hilites, midtones, and shadows. Then turing-off background layer.
Could someone please enlighten me? Thanks.
