when using those two tools in camera raw window i dont see the way to restore back i mean undo, is there a way?

if not i see it is always better to make a copy of the original raw file, many times i like to go back to the original file

thanks

On Windows, right-click somewhere *in the picture area* with ACR open. There is a menu with "clear crop". (It works for both tools).

thanks,
but i sow also that i once you press "open" then is no way back to the crop or straighten….first position, so i think it is also the need to make first a copy of the original

why don’t you simply cancel?

no way, if you cancel you dont undo…
barry is right, right click you undo, but if you continue with open to photoshop then is no way back to undo,
so it is better to make one copy first..

howcome you say cancel is not undo?
if you cancel, there is no alterations on it,
and you’ll have to launch it again from wichever
file it is in.

You can’t damage the raw image.

If you want to permanently save multiple settings, perhaps you do need copies. But if you go ahead and open the file, and do some Photoshop work, you know you can go back to the raw later and cancel and change those settings. Settings only live for as long as you want them live.

but i have try that, and i were not able to undo the straighten anymore, i can undo as long as it is in the acr like you told me with the right click, but if it goes to photoshop, later that raw file opne it again i try to undo, and i cant anymore with the right click, at the thumbnails it appears a sign of croping, but i dont see the use,

you know how to undo after has been open it in photoshop? i dont

I think I know what the problem is.

You only get the right-click menu permitting "Clear Crop" if the either "crop" or "align" buttons are down. If neither of these is down, you get another right-click menu, such as the view size.

So if you open the DNG file ACR, then crop, you are likely still to have the crop button down. Therefore you can cancel the crop. But if you open the file in Photoshop, the next time you open the DNG file in ACR the crop button won’t be down, so you won’t get that menu. Press one of those buttons down, right-click within the picture area, and you should be OK.
