This is a curious problem because it seems to be intermittent…
I have a small network of 4 PCs, but generally only use two of them, unless something special crops up. PC1 is my main workststion with CS; PC2 is a print server running Shiraz RIP. Therefore I scan/edit/tweak images on PC1 and then copy the image to PC2 to print it.
The problem is that [most of the time] PSCS wont start up if PC2 is not switched on and running. Its very annoying to have to switch on 2 PCs to get CS to work. It hangs up after the dreaded "Reading Text Global Resources… Done" message appears.
I realise this may be a network problem, but can anyone shed any light, please? The other thing is that *sometimes* CS WILL start normally, even if PC2 is off.
I tried deleting prefs etc, which seemed to fix it for a while, but the problem came back after I had used PC2. It seems that once CS knows about PC2, it needs to have it there. Yes there are shared printers on PC2 and I need them.
Is there a time-out setting that I can tweak or anything?
Thanks a lot.
Brian
