Text disappears in Slide Show

Hi,

I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. I was trying to create a slide show and had added text to the photos. However, when reviewing the slideshow, the text in some slides disappeared but some did not. I tried to use the help files supplied, but they refered to layers which I somehow cannot get access to. Could someone help me?
