Can someone tell me how to make the background image as used as a tile here: http://www.cliftech.com/html/mustang.html

I’ve tried to use my intuition but it seems to be broken 😉

Take plane, extract from background, place on new
layer.
Create layer, fill with black (or white, try both)
move below plane layer. Merge the layers
Use the emboss filter on merged layer

Looks like an Engrave filter was at fault.
