Hello all, I seem to have a problem Im unsure of how to fix. I dont print with photoshop often and for the first time i am trying to print a full page image. My image measures in at 10.223"H x 8.11"W and I am using 8.5 x 11.0 paper.. Yet everytime I go to print it it says cropping will occur. I hot control p and went to the settings for the printing and when I choose "Scale to Fit Media" it reports in the grayed out boxes that my media is 10.083H x 8W. What I need to do is print this image so that it has 0.0 margins on left and top but I cant get past the paper size problem. Why is Photoshop saying my paper is only 10×8? Where can I fix this at? Oh Im using PS7 by the way.

Thank You, Jared aka TCH

Jared,

The mistake that most people make with photoshop, is assuming it works like MS Word, or a page layout program. It doesn’t. You do not define a page size, rather, you define an image size.

Photoshop reads what your printer settings are, and what the phsyical limitations of your printer are. All printers have limits as to how close to the edge of the page they can print.

So what do you do? You define an image that will fit on a sheet of paper considering the limitations of your printer. The other thing you can do is use larger paper.

Peace,

You might want to try Print with Preview and select "Scale to Fit Media". Photoshop will automatically scale your graphic to fit the paper size and margins you have set.
