Layer Styles and Cropping

I am laying out a web page and at the top there is a beveled title. When I crop this title to break it up for rollover effects the crop will add the bevel to the cropped edge as well as the other sides that were already beveled. Any help or ideas would be great thanks. Here is a link to the a page that might explain a little more.
