Layer Style and Shape Layers

hi ,
im trying to create some effect with the layer styles on sape layers but there is some weird rule i cant follow ,

for example , let say i wanna have 4 button with a gradient fill , all the buttons are going to use the same effect so i substract 4 shapes out of the vector masl of the shape layer.

now the fill effect is kind of destribute along all of them instead of standing for each one of them.

is there something i should know?

Each button should be on it’s own layer.

The gradient is for the entire layer, not the individual shapes on it.

As for what you should know:

You should know that taking the time to type properly will help others read and understand what you’re trying to say

Use Firefox/Thunderbird – at least that would help the spelling!
