auto color correction problems

I have been using the auto color feature successfully for some time. I have not made any changes to the system to my knowledge although I am going to reset to factory specs. My problem is almost everytime I use auto color I get over exposed and blue tint. Anyone got ideas what might have went wrong?

What version of Photoshop?

Have you checked (or changed) the auto settings via the levels or curves dialogs?
