How do I reset a selection marquee problem?

Hi, I don’t know what happened but now, after I use the selection tool to draw a shape, the cursor immediately becomes the one with the plus sign to add to the selection. I can’t use the cursor to drag the selection around any more. Please show me how to turn it off. Thank you very much.

This is set in the options bar. The first icon at the left end of the bar should be selected. It sounds like you have the second one selected.

No problem. It messed me up the first time I ran into it in Version 6 as well.
