I posted the same problem on 4/30, but wasn’t able to resolve it. But I just figured it out last night. I, too, have a high resolution screen but changed the display settings to try and get larger toolbars, etc. (didn’t work). In any case, I changed everything back last night and the double cursor is gone.
What helped me was to remember what changes I had made to the settings at about the same time the double cursor thing happened. I added the tablet (why I thought it was the cause) but at the same time also tried to make the desktop a little more reader friendly.
