PS3 slower than pse2

I am workng on a 60mb image and a 1gb DRAM system. PS2 easily handles the image whereaspse3 almost crashes.

Any ideas?

You don’t mention what platform or OS you are using but I regularly work on 50 to 100 mb tifs and psds (the largest so far is a 360 mb scan) on this system:

P4 2.66GHZ 533MHZ FSB
512MB DDR SDRAM AT 333MHZ
120GB HD @ 7200RPM 85GB free
Custom Paging Init 768MB Max 1536MB
Win XP Home SP1

Though anything over about 80 mb responds very slowly PE3 has never crashed.

One thing that has caused slow response for some people is setting the Memory & Image Cache preference to above 50 or 60%. I know that’s counter intuitive but bringing it back down to 50 might help.
