Trying to install PE 2.0 that came with Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV.

I get "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable." whenver I try to start the application.

This same thing happened with PE 1.0 and there was a patch. When I had to reload 1.0 it happened again but when I went to the Adobe.com site the patch was gone and they said I had to upgrade to 2.0. I was able to work around that against the day I could install 2.0.

So now I’m installing 2.0 and it doesn’t work.

Any advice?

What has Minolta support said? They are your real support as they made a bulk agreement with Adobe…

What has Minolta support said? They are your real support as they made a bulk agreement with Adobe…

So it ceases to be an Adobe product when it’s bundled with a scanner?

Tell ‘ya what – I’ll install the copy of PE 2.0 that I got directly from Adobe and we’ll see if it has the same problem.

OK, how did that go…

Please remember this is a user to user newsgroup, their is no one from Adobe posting answers in this newsgroup…

What machine? XP, ME. 98 or a Mac?

When the software is supplied by a vendor of a product instead of adobe, it is what I have read written by other users in the various newsgroups. All patches are supplied by the hardware vendor supplying the software, Sometimes there are hidden links for fixes at adobe for patches to repair vendor supplied software.

The vendor has always taken care of the problem, if there was something wrong in the download or CD supplied with the hardware they sold.
