How do I stop the runaway train?

I’ve accidentally started the wrong action on a folder of pictures from Bridge. Unfortunately absolutely nothing I do seems to be able to cancel it. Photoshop responds to nothing, including choosing quit from the dock, I’ve closed Bridge altogether. Any ideas?
