My computer recently crashed and I needed to reinstall CS2. Now, when I take a file and SAVE FOR WEB, it wants to engage ImageReady and mandate I save slices as .gif’s. Despite changing all my settings to .jpg, it still forces a .gif output? Where do I disengage ImageReady as part of the Save for Web dialogue?

Hi Rufus,

I’m guessing you have a corrupt Save for Web plugin, and so Photshop has to start ImageReady in order to save for the web. Don’t understand why ImageReady should be forcing you to save gifs.

You should have the plugin in this location if your install used the default locations.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\Import-Export

It’s named

Save for Web.8be

Hope this helps.
