Layer changing size

Trying to do a photomosaic. "Tile" saved as a "tif" 1 inch square. But when trying to use as a layer the size increases to about 2.25 inchs square. The bottom message bar indicates 1 inch square. The background is the correct size.

John, could you say a little more about your workflow? When combining pictures in a photomosaic, you have to be concerned with both their linear dimensions and their resolution in ppi. If you take a background that’s 8 inches by 10 inches by 300 ppi and drag onto it an image that’s 1 inch by 1 inch by 750 ppi, you’ll wind up with a square on your background that’s 2.25 inches square. (I think I did that math right although it’s been one of those days….)

I’ll try your ideas, because 0.5 inch squares seemed to work OK.
