I have a friend who wants to buy PS Elements but has been told that it ‘can’t do grayscale’. I don’t even see how that’s possible. Can anyone help? Is there any truth to this and if so how? Thanks a million, maybe more!

Phil,
Elements certainly can "do" greyscale. I wonder if your friend is referring to the difficulty of printing monochrome images without a color cast ( a persistent problem, since generally you must use color inks to print the images ). That is a universal problem, and a science in itself. Elements, however, can definitely do greyscale.

Perfect.
Thanks, Brent. I’ll pass that on.

image->mode->grayscale

….to convert an RGB to grayscale. There are other ways to do it, but this is the simplest.
