Photoshop 7.01 on a G4 with OS9.2
1. When 200MB RAM is allocated to Photoshop and locked the allocation defaults back to the suggested 52MB.
2. The aliases used for opening Photoshop no longer work after a period, opening instead a folder containing the Photoshop icon and another folder labelled ‘Contents’.

OS 9 is dead. and PS7.0.1 is old discontiued software.

Nobody makes software for a dead system and Adobe dosen’t make patches for discontinued software.

you’re out of date. Time to upgrade and move into the 21st century.

Allan,

Rebuild your Desktop before doing the following:

First, make sure you’re on Mac OS 9.2.2, Then, quit Photoshop; trash the Photoshop preferences file; set the RAM allocation, making sure you are selecting the application icon and not an alias. DO NOT LOCK the icon. Relaunch Photoshop.

If that doesn’t work, come back here for tips about opening the Photoshop "package’ by control clicking on the icon (or trash the whole Photoshop folder and re-install Photoshop 7, and apply the 7.0.1 update).
