PE displays images differently than Internet Explorer 6 does on my computer. I am using Win2000 with my monitor calibrated using Adobe’s gamma utility. PE is set to "no use color management".
I think PE uses the exif color data in the jpeg files to display the photos. When I use "Save for Web" the left pane shows how IE will display the photo, darker than the right pane. If I set the right pane to "uncompensated color" that shows how IE displays photos. Saving the ICC profile with the image doesn’t make a difference.
It looks like to properly edit photos that will be displayed on web pages I will need to download the patch that stops PE from using exif color information. Any comments?
